cjameslv
So i added a vga port to my ste. Works great but when i go to turn off my system, it stays on unless i unplug my monitor from the vga port. I have the vga port wired to the atari monitor contacts on the bottom of the pcb. I know power flows through the vga port (tried out a scanline generator that uses vga power) but never thought it would run the system. It sounds like you've got 5v being back fed into the VGA port from the monitor somehow? Something is wrong there somewhere! In theory the FDD should not work despite the system still being powered at that point - try testing that, you should find the FDD stepper or spindle don't work.
