Typhon79
Hello everyone,I just thought I'd spread the news that the devoloper of Kat5200 has given the emulator a major overhaul in recent days. It's very good, and fixes a number of issues with controls. You can check it out here if you're interested. http://kat5200.jillybunch.com/

MrMaddog
Great! I use Kat5200 because MESS doesn't support two fire buttons and I rather keep Altirra for 8-bit computer use.

Yeah I remember having those issues back in the day and I gave up on Atari 5200 emulation for a long time for that reason. MESS was all there was. The latest MAME (with MESS built in) does seem to have both fire buttons working properly, but the analogs don't function properly for games like Super Breakout (doesn't auto-center on release). Altirra is a great emulator also but the interface is very unintuitive. It took me almost half an hour to figure out how to set up controls lol. For ease of use and functionality I am very pleased with Kat5200.
0078265317
Lots of improvement. Better than before. Controls work great after some fiddling around. But still got crash debug error twice. Not perfect yet.

Guitari
Can't get the Emu to work, I've downloaded a 5200 complete romset, extracted them to their bins, ensured the correct machine in selected! and I get 'error loading bios image' Any ideas? Under Machine->Bios Files you have the right BIOS file setup in the 5200 section?
Guitari
Thankyou it says kat5200\0.7\5200.bin this is for version 0.7.1 is this correct?
eegt97
It isn't finding it, so it is looking for it in a default location. The emulator does not come with the BIOS file, you need to download it and tell it where it is. You can get it from this site, from the AtariAge home page->5200->Emulation.
