abrondino
Has anyone had success with inserting a 7800 in a 2600 shell? I am looking to have this done to my 7800
+save2600
Oh yeah, super easy... any old model 2600 will do, but you're in for a real treat as the Jr. and 7800 mobo's are drop-in replacements. NOT! lol Never heard of anyone doing this. Switches, RF and power input wouldn't line up of course, so will be one hell of a hack job and project. Dauber
I've actually considered looking into putting a 7800 board into a 2600. Unfortunately, some careful cutting would be required.
+H454
The SEARS Arcade II case is 90% the same as the 7800. Cart port is in same spot, both have the same cable wraps. You still going to do A LOT of cutting. This generic case ( link below) will fit a 7800 board snugly with out the shielding. I'm planning on using this case for a board with a broken case. I just haven't gotten around to it. https://www.pactecenclosures.com/product-detail.php?productid=110&seriesid=47&classid=26 Edited April 3, 2017 by H454
CPUWIZ
I think Shawn has put one into a heavy sixer case in the past.
Shawn
I think Shawn has put one into a heavy sixer case in the past. Yep. It was a hell of a project. That was over 10 years ago. If I did it again I could do so much more with it with what I have learned in the meantime.
