Justin Payne
I've got a bunch of ST software that is packed away. I'd like to break it out and see if I can back it up before time ravages it but if there are disk images of it already, I'm not going to waste my time with certain disks. I'd like to find a torrent of ST "stuff", and when I says "stuff", I mean everything ST, including stuff that isn't software but images, music files, freeware, etc. I feel like this should already be available but if not, I'd like to seed the feed. AtariMania has some "stuff" but I think it might be lacking. Does something like this exist and if so, can someone provide me with that link so I can start gathering a list of what exists? Thanks
Checksum
About 5To of old stuff: http://www.tosecdev.org (about 50To ) This site seems to use the tosec projet to feed himself: http://www.planetemu.net/machine/atari-st and better to browse the content. malan23
I just got a 1040STFM and am still learning what to do with it. On the second link it looks like there are a whole lot of downloads (french?) to get and use. I realize that most people on these forums are very computer literate but this is ALL new to me. I had a 520ST when I was a kid which I just played games on. Now I would like to get into every aspect of the ST (tech, upgrades/ current tech, game management etc.) What do I do to make use of these? Tickled_Pink
I downloaded most of the TOSEC stuff just over 3 years ago. I compiled them into 3 DVDs worth of material, so it comes to about 13Gb. One thing you can do is get an old PC with a floppy drive and run a program called floimg (see attachment). Use it with 720K floppies to copy disk images to disks that will work on the ST. This is probably the cheapest way of doing things if you have a PC with a floppy drive lying around. floimg9.zip
Fafaflunkie
If you're willing to sit through a 12 Gb download, you can get the entire TOSEC Atari ST archive at https://archive.org/details/Atari_ST_TOSEC_2012_04_23 Thankfully, you can also browse the archive and pick and choose whatever disk images you want, as opposed to downloading the whole thing.
