just doing my 1st scroller on lynx... i was wondering that lynx sprites are "no real" sprites? which means i have to deal with clearing & whipping them off the screen? so i would have to draw the background into video buffer and then let do the sprite engine putting them onto it? right?

sorry for being little confused... imho it seems that the lynx sprite engine is more than "extended" blitter than a "real" sprite hardware... :) but cool anyway...

hve

ps. how many cpu cylces can be done in a HBL and a VBL? sorry i am not goot in maths...

Hi!

You are right, the Lynx-sprites aren't "hardware" sprites as in the C64 or other "old" machines. But this makes the number of Lynx-sprites "unlimited".

Also: It depends on your Screen-rendering-engine whether or not

you have to clear the whole 8KB screeen-buffer.

Sorry, but you have to do the math for the CPU-cycles per scanline/fram on your own: It depends on the choosen refresh-rate (yes, the refresh rate can be changed). But i think there are examples in the docs for this.
