+davidcalgary29
You can see it in the bottom left hand corner of the second and fourth photographs: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...egory=3537&rd=1 I actually have another one that is entirely black, and has a label in the top right corner which states "for the 600XL and 800XL". Can anyone advise on the release of these before the familiar "Brick" PSes?
+Mitch
Looks like a 5200 PS to me. For a list of all the different PS's used for the 8-bits check the 8-bit FAQ. Mitch
Nukey Shay
Yep...I've got one of them that came with this reconditioned 800 (left). My 1050's had the older "two step" bricks (right). Interesting thing is that the left one shows the power output as 11.5v DC, the others have 9v AC. Doesn't matter either way, I can use either for the computer or drives. You would think that would make a difference (?)
Nukey Shay
BTW the left one was made in Korea with a model # C018187, date code 22X83ZP (22nd week in '83?) The right one was made in Taiwan, model # C017945. Looks newer, but I think that it is an older model than the other one (because of the lower part #). +davidcalgary29
Do you have pics of the PS with the "1050"-style casing?
Nukey Shay
Ohhh That's a power supply? I thought it was a modem or something I thought you were referring to the black PS right next to it
+davidcalgary29
Nope. I think it's referred to as "The Beauty" in the FAQ, but I can't be sure without a pic there. It basically looks like a squashed 1050, sans disk drive.
Jetboot Jack
I have three of those BIG "beauty" 800xl power units -- they are about half the width and height of a 1050, black, but with the xl notches all round... They seem to work ok -- kinda old skool! sTeVE
