Shannon
I just got a lynx and one cart within the last couple months, but didn't notice this lame slogan on the back of the box until I recentally acquired a handful of games. Of course at the time the lynx was released I was more interested in my Atari 8-bit computer and the soon to be released Amiga 500. So I guess I didn't pay much mind to this kinda thing. In fact I didn't even know of the expression until I played capcom games on emulators the last 5 years. I suppose my arcade days ended as well. I think I stopped going around the crystal castle, marble madness era. Luckily we don't have to live with these slogans during the demo mode of lynx games.. right?? I hope so.. lol. Did other game systems of the time have this slogan on the box? I'm surprised these days they don't have a slogan like "Winners don't carry knives and guns", or something silly like that. Anyways, thanks for reading me blabber.
AtariDude
You used to see this slogan a lot in arcade games. I guess they figured that it made the sales of arcade games more palatable if they were providing a public service message before the game started. davidcalgary29
Does anyone know when this slogan first appeared on Atari games? The earliest reference that I could find is on a copy of "Super Huey" for the 7800, which was produced for market in 1988.
