ST Monitor Options

I have a 520STf (4mb) and a Mega STE but I'm looking for monitor options. I currently have a SC1224 and a pair of matching 12" monos.

 

The 12" screen for color is ~ ok .. but I can't find any SC1435's.

I also have a couple of scaler devices and the ST looks kinda terrible on various LCDs that I've tried.. (unlike the Amiga which has a couple of good options for LCD Output.. piggybacking on the Alice/Denise chips).

 

What is the way to get a 'bigger than 12"' output that looks reasonable from a ST these days?

A nec 1990fxp lcd works great with an ST, no scaler need, it works in all resolutions out of the box, just needs st to vga cables.

Nec 1970 series of monitors 1970nx 1970vx .. that gives you 19" that will sync down to 15khz.

 

I kept my eye on local classified, just picked up an 1970nx for $25

 

There is a a big thread on here, and on Best electronics that gives a list of monitors that will sync down as well.

Dell 2001FP and additional soundbar will work too. The only caveat is that you need to set the image location at boot (monitor setting). And of course you need a cable like the one Best Electornics has which can do color or mono.
