Rybags
It's been a long time but the BBC kb did have a quality feel and reminded me a little bit of the Atari. Similar travel and resistance to the straight XL (not stepped) type. The BBC ones don't look to have the tapered retaining lugs on the sides. Are these things servicable? I've not pulled an Atari kb apart. I suppose if they don't have lugs you could just glue them in or use some alternate method. Rybags
OK, so the retaining lugs aren't even used, just the solder. So your main problem will probably be desoldering the faulty ones without destroying traces.
