pixelmischief
I spent the better part of a day this weekend trying to get a complete Magic 6.2 installation working on my Falcon. Between finding software, information, and configurations that finally worked, it was a frustrating ordeal. I've compiled an archive of software and a quick doc about how to get it all set up. Justin Payne
Went through the same ordeal a few years back. I should have written it down myself but in the beginning I didn't expect it to be this difficult. After all of that I found that I should have done it with 14 megs. My 4 megs at the time didn't leave much room for using any software. Also, I sorta expected there to be some handling of resources when RAM got low (AKA: virtual disk). This didn't seem to be the case so the OS just fell over.
Atari030
Awesome. Hopefully I won't lose the archive and have to work it all out again. BTW, is there a way to make Magic default to 640x480x256 on boot? Mine always defaults to 640x400x2.
pixelmischief
Is there a way to make Magic default to 640x480x256 on boot? I accomplished it by editing my Falcon's NVRAM. It's one of the settings.
Atari030
I knew you could do that, but I like to reduce the colour depth on boot for Xboot, it boots a lot quicker in 2 colours. Ah well, there could be worse limitations.

TheNameOfTheGame
Does it work stable? do you get "System überschrieben" error message and freeze? I can not get MagiC to work stable on my Falcon030... Are you using a stock Falcon? I remember a program that uses the mmu features of the 68030 to protect the MagiC kernel. Doesn't work on the CT60 though since the 68060 has a different mmu setup.
calimero
Stock Falcon with 14MB RAM. I do not remember that MagiC had utility that could use MMU to protect MagiC kernel! Do you have it?!? I really would like to try it.

ParanoidLittleMan
Thanx for mentioning me in README.1ST . I should blame myself in first place to not crediting self in published archives in year 2010. http://atari.8bitchip.info/magic62.html Honestly I don't remember well whole thing, I did not use Magic much, especially not in last years. There was some updating in year 2014, I think that in case of Falcon version only German existed, or worked properly with hard disks, so should do some combining to get well working UK and US versions. It was published at atari-forum . Trying to find thread ,,, Here is it: http://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=20095&hilit=magic62 Somebody please DL for me file MAGIC62FUA,ZIP - it is in thread above, and I uploaded it there, it contains lot of my work. I can't find it on my current main hard disk. Really absurd situation and sign of 'gratefulness' for my work there .
