john_q_atari
I would like to get started with some FPGA experimenting on the 2600. The first thing I wanted to do was to replace a TIA chip in a vader board with an FPGA and see if I could get equivalent system functionality out of it. What is the best currently available TIA code out in the public domain? Or that anyone would be willing to share with me. Is there anything better than the original a2601 code from retromaster back in 2010? My target platform is one of the altera cyclone iv development boards, possibly the de0-nano. Newsdee
Have you looked at the MiSTer project? https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki You may be able to get inspiration from the Atari 2600 core. It runs ona DE10-Nano board, but I think somebody ported it to the DE0 of that's what you have.
Newsdee
I do notice the core is a port of a2601, but it might have enhancements: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki
