There are only about 575 unique games in Romhunter's archive. If you mix in 100 homebrews and hacks plus a few non-US versions, you are still only up to like 700 unique titles. Yet this group has managed to play 200 additional unique titles. We are true fans.
carlsson
Interesting! I can spot something like 10-20 titles which are demos or hacks, but as you mention it is a long way between 575 and 892. Yet I combined a few duplicate entries before, mainly in the Pac-Man jungle. Atarian7
I hope this isn't too late. My power went out last Tuesday/Wednesday for 5 hours. It did something to the modem. I had to remove the battery and unplug it to reset it. I just learned about having to remove the battery today.
carlsson
Here's the summary for Week 25, running from June 17 - 23. We logged 3843 minutes of eligible play, playing 61 games on a total of 13 systems. Top 10: 1. Impossible Mission (C64) - 746 min. 2. Goonies II, The (NES/Famicom) - 327 min. 3. Sonic & Knuckles (Genesis) - 231 min. 4. Moon Crystal (NES/Famicom) - 194 min. 5. Resident Evil: Director's Cut (PlayStation) - 159 min. 6. Kaboom! (Atari 2600) - 157 min. 6. Pac-Man Collection (Atari 7800) - 157 min. 8. M.U.L.E. (Atari 8-bit) - 133 min. 9. Mitsume ga Tooru (NES/Famicom) - 129 min. 10. B-17 Bomber (Intellivision) - 127 min. Pre-NES top 10: 1. Impossible Mission (C64) - 746 min. 2. Kaboom! (Atari 2600) - 157 min. 2. Pac-Man Collection (Atari 7800) - 157 min. 4. M.U.L.E. (Atari 8-bit) - 133 min. 5. B-17 Bomber (Intellivision) - 127 min. 6. Space Taxi (C64) - 82 min. 7. Lode Runner (C64) - 78 min. 8. Solar Fox (Atari 2600) - 77 min. 9. Forbidden Forest (C64) - 67 min. 10. Who Dares Wins II (C64) - 62 min. Top 10 systems: 1. Impossible Mission for the second week in a row takes the double and leads the C64 to a triple. 8 of 10 games on the main list are from systems released in 1987 or earlier (I was about to say before 1990 but realized the Genesis is from 1988/89). Guess which game is #376 on the 1000 Minute Club? Yes, indeed Impossible Mission (C64) through two strong weeks enters the club with a total of 1411 minutes played, of which 1221 minutes this year. After next week, I'll probably do some mid-season stats.
+cvga
The 13 yo and I have been playing Burgertime on Intellivision while we wait for my brother to begin Final Fantasy II on the SNES. We've both improved our scores quite a bit this week. Intellivision: Burgertime - 258 minutes

digdugnate
im travelling for work so i'm pretty well done with Classic time for the week. carlsson
Atari 8-bit: Bounty Bob Strikes Back - 42 min. VIC-20: Pooyan 20 - 12 min. Shark Attack - 11 min. Slap Dab - 13 min. Snake Pit - 4 min. Besides the HSC, I wanted something different so I got back to some VIC-20 gaming. Pooyan 20 is a recent (2014) homebrew for 16K expanded machine, looks great given the hardware capacities, perhaps gameplay a bit on the difficult side compared to other versions. Shark Attack is something I got reminded about last week when Atari2600land was discussing shark graphics. It turns out to be something of a manual Qix game, meaning you lay net to cover some 75-85% of the screen area, but that sharks eventually will chew their way through the net. In the few YouTube videos existing, those who made the recordings have no clue how to play the game so they don't succeed in an otherwise fairly easy game, at least the first 3-4 levels. Slap Dab is an old painting favorite which I might play more in the near future. Snake Pit has some amazing sounds and lots of action on the screen, though not quite as exciting as I remembered it. (And yes, I beat my big brother's ~35 year old scores on both Shark Attack and Slap Dab, so that's great!)

Kurt_Woloch
Here are my times for this past week on classic systems: Arcade: Burger Time - 15 min. Atari 2600: Chaotic Grill - 12 min. Crystal Castles - 8 min. Like last week, I didn't play much because it was hot outside and I went swimming on 5 days. However, I did sneak in a round of "Chaotic Grill" because a new version of it was released. After that I played a bit of the original Burger Time for comparison. Also I viewed the demo "Danger zone" for the Atari 2600 for one minute (but that's no game, so it doesn't qualify here), followed by "Crystal Castles" for the same system.
BurritoBeans
Well I see forum the layout changed since last I was on here, neat-o. Atari 7800 Xevious - 25 minutes PDP-11 Adventure - 35 minutes VIC-20 Omega Race - 40 minutes Yeah, nothing too exciting because the weather has been amazing out so I've been making it a point to get outside. Finally got the PDP to work reliably and upgraded it to having 256K of 22-bit RAM instead of the previous 64K of 16-bit stuff - no advantage for me past more to use but whatever. Adventure is always fun, I think I beat the Apple II version a few years back but it's cool to play it on something closer to what it was made for. The 7800 came out to play some Xevious as I finally found the stupid cartridge, I thought I lost it as it's my only 7800 cart but it was just sitting with the stack of all the no-end-label 2600 games - I don't like the 7800 joystick at all and I suck at the game but hey, it looks nice and that's always cool. Past that just Omega* Race on the VIC as I needed to test a new video cable I had made and a joystick I fixed, surprisingly both worked fine and the game like always is fun. Someday I need to get more than a few cartridges for the thing, maybe break out the tape drive and get a bigger RAM expansion to try out some newer stuff anyways. digdugnate
@carlsson If it's ok, I'd like to add some arcade time to my times this week. A friend and I went to an arcade in Arlington, TX called 'Free Play'- all you can play for $11 US! I totally could've spent more time in the arcade but we were trying to also hit a mid-afternoon matinee as well- i kind of regret not firing up Burgertime. the arcade had TONS of games from the 80s and 90s, plus a whole wall of pinball games. I'm a bigger fan of games from the 80s so I spent most of my solo time messing around with those. He had never finished Turtles in Time so that was a blast to play through- and not throw quarters in. Arcade: 1943 -- 16 minutes Asteroids -- 24 minutes Marvel vs. Capcom -- 32 minutes (I stomped my friend into the ground, just like in high school, lol) Missile Command -- 10 minutes Moon Patrol -- 12 minutes Mortal Kombat 2 -- 10 minutes Q*Bert -- 15 minutes (I had to wait my turn for this one- the dude that played before me was WAY better) Smash TV -- 15 minutes (I would've played longer but my friend was sick of Smash TV, haha) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time -- 45 minutes

I'm taking credit for raising awareness about arcades in DFW. So far 2 of you have gone to local arcades here after I started posting links and stuff. I love it. Despite visiting like 11 or 12 arcades in the area in the last two months, I still haven't made it over to FP Arlington. Eltigro
Classic gaming for me this week... NES (emulated) Castlevania - 30 min (Just played for a bit before the kids went to bed. Not trying to beat it or anything, just passing some time with an old fave. Played until first death, I think.) Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog - 5 min (Was showing someone how my crt was messed up. Showing them that it was still playable, but squashed.) SNES (emulated) R-Type III - 5 min (I need to try this one some more. But need a turbo fire button. Will have to look through my emulator settings and see what I can find. Yeah, yeah, I know, "You can charge the laser to fire a bigger shot!" but I hardly ever do that and just rely on a lot of little shots in fast succession. lol) Playstation (all emulated) G Darius - 5 min (Darius games are so hard. I still like trying them though.) Raiden Project - 30 min (Playing Raiden 1 on this. Love the sound on this game. It's just coming through my computer speakers, but still sounds nice. Hard game as usual.)

SNES (emulated) R-Type III - 5 min (I need to try this one some more. Hard game as usual.) The problem with turbo in R-Type is that you can't charge the beam when using it. Unless it has a separate button for it. I don't have R-Type III just Super R-Type and R-Type DX. My friend said he was having trouble with the controls on the far left (don't remember who that was). Also, and maybe it was because of what time we were there (morning), but the glare from the windows made it kinda hard to see those machines up front. we didn't seem to- my friend played Leo and I played Donatello (Left and middle-right, i think) Marvel vs. Capcom had the roundhouse kick button for 1P broken, not that it helped my friend, lol!
