MaDDuck
I searched by ISBN (1090260814) and no luck, it is just at Amazon...
carlsson
Probably it is print on demand, typical for Amazon.
broettger
I just received my copy yesterday. Overall, I think is is a pretty good book and a great introduction to the C128. It is interesting to read the original 1980s vs 2019 take on many of the topics. There are some things that I think could be improved (like an appendix listing the websites and forums available today), but I would still recommend the book as a good reference. You can download a free sample of the Kindle version that includes the table of contents and about the first 30 pages of the book. motrucker
Available any place other than Amazon? You don't like Amazon either? Funny though - when I searched this book, apparently RobertB has pasted his post on every Commodore site in the world ! I hope and pray it will be available some where else. Been boycotting Amazon since Bezo's "1-Click" patent. I saw it as a blatant attempt to abuse the patent system and my grudge did not expire with the patent. If it is a print-on-demand book then supply should not be a problem. I am glad to see Robert spreading the word.

I am glad to see Robert spreading the word. I've had a problem with Amazon long before his 1-click crap. I refuse to buy from them, period. I wasn't belittling RobertB about posting so many places. I just thought it funny he hit so many sites! I am all for spreading the word about C-128 news. Mine still gets used almost every day. I wanna say that was the first time I had ever heard of Amazon. I am afraid I was did not stay on top of Internet culture outside of IRC and other activities. And, gotchya, I see the humor there. Robert gets around. I had a chance to meet him at Amiga 30 and he is a nice guy and very enthusiastic, not to mention a valuable resource. carlsson
Oddly I found it as this Swedish reseller. You probably don't want to order from overseas, but it should be an indication it will pop up at more sites. https://www.adlibris.com/se/bok/vintage-commodore-128-personal-computer-handbook-2019-survival-edition-9781090260819 Also in Australia: https://www.booktopia.com.au/vintage-commodore-128-personal-computer-handbook-margaret-gorts-morabito/prod9781090260819.html Edited March 27, 2019 by carlsson
thetick1
Thriftbooks wrote the original software Amazon uses so their site does look retro Amazon-ish... but they are not Amazon with only 900 empolyees. https://www.thriftbooks.com/about-thriftbooks/ ThriftBooks was started in 2003 by two entrepreneurs. They wrote the first version of the software to list and price books on Amazon.com. In 2004, ThriftBooks graduated from a storage unit to a warehouse on Mercer Street in downtown Seattle that was capable of holding 200,000 books. In 2006, we moved into a larger warehouse in Auburn, WA that was capable of holding 1 million books....The company has grown into a global enterprise serving millions of customers worldwide with the help of a team of over 900 dedicated employees. Anyway they have Vintage Commodore 128 Personal Computer Handbook: https://www.thriftbooks.com/w/vintage-commodore-128-personal-computer-handbook-2019-survival-edition_margaret-gorts-morabito/20884775/#isbn=1090260814 Update: Showing Temporarily Unavailable Edited April 4, 2019 by thetick1
RobertB
Robert gets around. Heh, I'm supposed to be in New Zealand and Australia later this year, visiting Commodore/Amiga people. By the way, the Vintage Commodore 128 Personal Computer Handbook will be for sale at the Commodore Los Angeles Super Show (especially for those who don't want to order through Amazon).
