You can manuver around in a circle so that you are right at a bend right near the end of a fuse (so there is no other way to that spot) and just wait there until the sparks burn themselves out. See the lowest horizontal line? You can move right toward the edge and veer upward 1 section before the "steps". Then move right 1 section again, and then down 1 section. You can just wait there (1 section before the end of the fuse to your left). This will work on any screen that has those steps around the border (i.e. most of them).
