So a PCB interface to allow for an Atmega chip(s) to emulate? Would seem that it would be a mighty undertaking but... if what I speak of is heresy sorry. just trying to keep the system working well. ? I am wondering if TOS can be stored on a IC that could be programmed with AVR? Then creating a PCB to interface with the motherboard to accommodate the new IC to EPROM that the Atari could read.
