Ahow77
Hi all, I have a 1040 STF in generally good condition, that I got a really good deal on. It didn't have a floppy drive in it (hence the good deal), but I fitted it with a Gotek drive with FF, and it by all appearances seems to work great. I haven't gotten into using it that much, but have recently downloaded some games (Star Wars Trilogy among others) that I would like to play, but when I plug a joystick into port two with a mouse plugged into port one (it's a PS/2 mouse going through a Micromys V4 adapter) the mouse stops working properly and also joystick doesn't seem to work. Is there a setting or something somewhere I should be looking at? Is it possible that it's a conflict with the Micromys adapter? Or could it be (cough) dry solder joints as I've read about a few times looking into this issue...Lil' help?
ParanoidLittleMan
Yes, most likely dry solder joints. That should be not hard to fix. Adapter conflict is not realistic - only common line for 2 ports is fire on joystick and right button on mouse.
