+davidcalgary29
Does anyone have any recent contact info for Nick? I'm tyring to get a legit copy of Papyrus X (with docs).
TheNameOfTheGame
Nick closed his store some time ago. There are no docs for this program other than the CD with everything on it. I know because I bought the CD from Nick when he was in business. Check the abandonware thread on the other forum for the program.
viking272
Yes it would seem he closed it: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/248863-time-to-go-into-the-dark-night/?tab=comments#comment-3434626
+davidcalgary29
Yes, I remember it. I'm hoping, though, that he's still around so that I can contact him directly.
viking272
It looks like Papyrus X was only made available in German - I wonder if that is an issue for you?
MasterMotorola
davidcalgary29, did you try to contact Papyrus directly or ROM-Logicware (the German distributor)? Maybe they still have some old copies laying around. https://www.papyrus.de/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Local-Business/ROM-Logicware-GmbH-463661023749637
doctor_shred
I miss Nick's 16/32 store. Bought loads of stuff off him over the years. I hope he's doing well where ever he is.

I feel that I should follow up with an actual letter: "You have forced me to write this letter to you on Atariwriter Plus on an Atari 400 because no one will sell me a copy of Papyrus X. Fulfill your obligations to society now!".

My version was English so I can only assume that a translated resource was made available by Nick. Some of previous versions (6 - 9) only made it in German iirc. I was stuck using version 5 for years until X was released.
Zogging Hell
Tempus Word was a good alternative if you fail to find a copy of Papyrus X. http://www.tempus-word.de/ Might want to email them to see if it still available before you buy though as it hasn't been updated for a long while. I have a copy and can say it is comparable, minus the more office like functions.
+davidcalgary29
Update! I received a response from Papyrus: Quote Sorry, I have to add another 5 years to that "being late" ... You reached the right guys, but sorry ... Best Regards Ulli Am 22.10.2020 um 19:15 schrieb David: Hello, I am searching for a copy of Papyrus X for TOS (Atari ST) machines. I realize that this e-mail is probably twenty years too late -- but do you have any copies left for sale? Thanks David Oh, well. I think I can get a boxed copy of Papyrus Gold, and I suppose I'll have to settle for that.
