TonySoprano
I just got my cable recently and now I got some time to fool around with some games on the Atari. I am trying out the APE software with DOS 2.5 and managed to get it booted, but how do I run games? I managed to get a few running, but many don't..i get some errors like 165 , or sometimes it locks up completely. Is there some sort of DOS guide I can read about ?? I totally forgot how to use this DOS 2.5 or MyDOS... It was like 20 years ago! oh ya I'm running on a XEGS too, so that might explain some of the lock ups. emkay
Because of your Filename error : To copy files, you have to use the following syntax d:filename.ext,d2:filename.ext Please take note about the comma. The Filename is allways 8 characters.
TonySoprano
thanks emkay, that error list will help me out. I managed to get a few games working by disabling BASIC first with the option key (wow, I forgot about that) so I think I got the hang of it. The cable to the PC seems a little unreliable though, does it often fail to detect the PC? sometimes I boot the Atari and it goes staight to SELF TEST instead of DOS. Sometimes it will give me an error in the middle of listing a directory. Seems like i have to retry 2 to 3 times before it works properly.
