Redcurrie
Here's a good Friday thread...what's the worst game for the 2600? My vote would go for Outlaw. I just hope that this cart came free in a package of cereal (bran would be appropriate) and that kids didn't spend their hard-earned money on it........ figgler
Journey Escape is quite bad, though it has some nice visuals I guess. And what the phuck is with Hangman? Hangman is pure ass. I think the guy that gets hanged still has his umbilical cord attached or something
sku_u
Math Gran Prix is a boring game.

King Atari
Karate by far. Outlaw is one of the best 2-player games on the system!
+Random Terrain
Games I hate (of the games I have played so far): Sorcerer, Fire Fly, Airlock, Freeway, Ghost Manor, Tax Avoiders, Pac-Man. [Oh yeah, I also hate the Swordquest games.]
Krytol
My vote would go for Outlaw. I dunno. I just had a lot of stupid fun playing it with my brother in law. (One of his first 2600 outings.)

Krytol
6. Swordquest Mindnumbing Impossible World Agreed.
sku_u
6. Swordquest Mindnumbing Impossible World Agreed. Yes, Any Swordquest game would make an excellent candidate for worst game ever. As for Skeet shoot, I actually like the simplicity of this game. Why do so many people bash this game but leave Human Cannonball out of the equation? human Cannonball is just as simple as skeet shoot. (My open-ended question of the day not directed at anyone in particular).
Rob Mitchell
Well we've had this discussion before .. but Lunar Lander on the B side of Starship really is the silliest 2600 demo to be called a game .. EVER! Math is not a game .. It's a computer quiz tool .. It is just a shame that Atari did not make it work with the keyboard controllers. 2600Lives
All of this and not one vote for E.T.? Wow. Seriously though, not many games reach the level of suckitude of the A-Team. And I gotta agree on Journey Escape, even though the game is pure ass, you just HAVE to love a game that plays a poorly rendered version of "Don't Stop Believin'" on the title screen! Sheldon Sims
My vote would go for Outlaw. I dunno. I just had a lot of stupid fun playing it with my brother in law. (One of his first 2600 outings.) Yeah. I had a lot of fun playing Outlaw against my little sister. Haha.
Albert
Yeah, I have to cast a vote for the Swordquest games, because I spent a lot of time playing them back when I was a kid, trying to make some sense out of them. If I only knew back then that there was no logic to them! And scouring the comic books for clues! Ugh! And never finishing the series! Well, okay, maybe that was a good thing. Outlaw is a fun two-player game. ..Al
liquid_sky
i was always convinced that i was playing swordquest wrong and somehow there was a fun game hidden in one of the rooms. Amazing how optimistic children are isnt it?
Thomas Jentzsch
Well we've had this discussion before .. but Lunar Lander on the B side of Starship really is the silliest 2600 demo to be called a game .. EVER! IMO there is no A side of Starship. But the worst is Skeet Shoot.
+Random Terrain
The Swordquest games remind me of the following quote that I have on one of my Quotes on Game Design pages : I personally object to episodic games where you play one screen of Space Invaders and one screen of Breakout and one screen of Galaxian and one screen of this and one of that. To me, that's not a game. It's just taking five bad games, putting them together, and calling them one good game. I'm philosophically against that. --Eugene Jarvis (Joystick Magazine, September 1982)
khryssun
Definitly SKEET SHOOT. The worst game I ever played... I wonder if "play" is the good word for this game......euh....And I wonder if "game" is the good word for this thing
MegaManFan
The best part of the Swordquest games is clearly the comic books.
