This might possibly reduce the key wobble? That's an interesting solution. The 800 key caps have a bit of an angle to them, so I'm not sure how that would work with them going into the switch. Unfortunately, I don't have a resin printer and my FDM printer wouldn't be able to handle the tolerances so I don't think I could try it yet. Darryl Larson
I would certainly be interested in one of these keyboards, since my Atari 800 keyboard is only partially working. Keep me in mind if you decide to make more!
kenames99
let me bump this thread, I said in post #24 I would be interested in 1 or 2, depending on price. I have bad keyboards in both my 800s. this is just a bump/reminder. thanks. Ken

ZuluGula
@Multifarious Industries, do you have any pictures of the 3D printed parts?
spamh8r
I'd take at least 1, if not more kits.

Mrarkus
All three of my 800s now have keyboard issues. Having a new 800 keyboard is now my ultimate dream. I'll happily buy 3-5 if they are available.
AtariUser2030
I downloaded the pcb file and ordered 5 pcb boards from JLCPCB and i am now soldering the cherry mx switches on the board! real easy to upload the zip file to JLCPCB WEBSITE. l8r
Panther
I've ordered some PCBs and Cherry MX brown switches. I'd like to point out for others that the keyswitches required are the versions with fixing pins, no diode or jumper, so parts ending in 1NW. If anyone in the Los Angeles area is interested in building one, let me know since I don't need five circuit boards.
Panther
In progress! Unfortunately, my 3D printer is having issues, so I'm waiting on being able to print the adapters and mounts.

Panther
For those who are dismantling a Hi-Tech keyboard and might be wondering, the rod under the spacebar is held in place by two plastic clips that pull straight up from the keyboard. I haven't had a close look at the Stackpole yet, but perhaps someone else can describe the removal. It just wasn't obvious until I started prying at it. Panther
And speaking of the spacebar, it looks like one of the spacebar supports needed to be flipped (mirrored), otherwise the rod doesn't quite fit.
Panther
My progress. Hopefully I can finish this tomorrow once I have a new spacebar support.
Panther
New spacebar support installed. Now I just need to mount it in the 800.
Panther
Another note: the stock 3/4" screws don't fit, I had to use 1" screws, which I fortunately had on hand (#6-20 x 1" pan head). The keyboard is installed and working, but I need to adjust the angle slightly.

I'm curious if the adapters for the original keys are working for people. If they are, I might get some more PCBs made and make kits if people are still interested? I'm at the point of taking the plunge; I have Atari keycaps and can source my own switches but if you have a stock of boards and switch extenders I'd like to talk further. Thanks for doing this. -CH-
