ROM Versions

I have a 520STM I purchased back in the 80's not long after they were first released, 2 questions

 

1. How do I find out what ROM version is fitted (Diag cartridge just says 1.0) it's the 6 chip set that's fitted.

 

2. What is the highest version I can replace the set with (1.06 seems to be the latest 6 chip version) for this model

If the cart is reporting 1.0 I would expect that’s the version you have. Your ST can take 1.4 easily and higher versions with the appropriate decoder hardware. TOS 1.6x is STE specific.

If it has a 1985 copyright date it's TOS 1.0

Just splitting TOS1.04UK into 6 chunks, found this in the ROM while checking
