someguyjon
I played this particular game on an Atari system when I was a kid. I don't remember if it was 2600, 5200, 7800 or other however. You had control of a battleship and you had to move side to side shooting forward (up on the TV) as you moved forward (more specifially, the landscape moved down the TV). I just can't think of the name of this game. If you can help me, I would appreciate it. Thanks Jon
MrRetroGamer
Sounds sort of like Xevious for the 7800?
someguyjon
My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I believe you started out in a river (body of water), and could only be a boat (battleship) throughout the game. It had more advanced graphics than the 2600 I believe now. Jon Could it be River Raid?? I was looking through the games index and came across this one. Does this game sound like what I am describing? (could be an airplane, not a ship...)
MrRetroGamer
5200 River Raid? There is water, however you are a plane and not a boat in this one. Can't really come up with anything else.
Fourth Horseman
River Raid! Man, as soon as I get my 5200 controller rebuilt I'm going to spend some quality time with this game again. Damn I love 5200 River Raid. Great game!
