Preppie
I recently picked up a couple of uk pal TI99/4a but when testing the power bricks one of them blew the houses RCA (the other was fine and powered the machines). I did some searching but all I found was ways to replace the internal DC psu. Is there no easy way to fix the external AC brick? I'm not knowledgable about electronics but I can solder and follow instructions.
Hans23
If the mains transformer is blown (i.e. shorted), it requires special skills and tools to fix (basically, you need to be DiodeGoneWild :D ). It will be pretty difficult to find a replacement transformer that fits into the case, so finding a replacement brick is or completely replacing both the mains converter and the internal PSU board with a modern solution would probably be easier.
Preppie
Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I'm sure I would have found an easy fix if there was one out there, but I wanted to double check.
