Bootay
I was playing a game on my Atari 800XL and this happened. I turned the computer off and back on and it continues to do this. Anyone know how I can fix it? Thanks! 20220125_091342.mp4
TGB1718
Does it sound like it's booting normally (fart noises) or SIO if loading from disk or tape ? Looks like some sort of "sync" issue, have you tried anything else on the monitor to make sure it's not that
mimo
Which power supply are you using?
bfollowell
It looks like more of a monitor issue than a computer issue to me. Have you confirmed the computer with another display or the display with another device?
Bootay
It ended up being the power supply. I tried another one and it works fine now. Thanks for the help guys! Turns out, I had the one thats known to be bad.

Cut the cable off and toss the rest
Paul Westphal
Oh Dude! The dreaded Epoxy anchor. You’re lucky it didn’t go completely out and take out chips on its way. Edited January 25, 2022 by Paul Westphal
Nezgar
What you see on the screen (bright, then dark scrolling bars - notice the grey/black background if you pause the video) is 60hz AC going into your computer instead of the normal DC. Definitely lobotomize that PSU ASAP. Keep the cord with the DIN end though, you can attach that to a new moder 5V DC power supply. Much easier than soldering wires to pins of a new connector.
