King Atari
Tempest will laugh at me for asking such a stupid question, but I need to know. Are eeprom (eprom? Whatever or whichever) carts heavier than normal carts? I've got one that is of questionable weight. If they are, I just may open it up and see if it's a treasure! CPUWIZ
Yes, they are heavier for sure.
King Atari
Really, really heavy? Because this thing (It's a Vanguard, btw) doesn't way a ton, but it's a bit heavier than my other copy. I would've opened it all ready, but this one has the better label. With my luck it's probably something jammed in there.
CPUWIZ
I say crack it open.
King Atari
Okay, I guess I can get Vanguard sealed anyways. Hold on a minute... Hmm, that's weird, not an eprom or anything, just a standard PCB. Maybe extra plastic in the cart shell? I don't see anything different. TonySoprano
How can you tell if you have the eeprom? I have a Dig Dug that is quite heavy. I opened it up and it has two chips, with metal shielding around them.
CPUWIZ
The second chip is a 128 byte RAM chip called the SuperChip.
