cbmeeks
OK, so I took apart one of my TI-99's and noticed attached part fell out. I normally take pictures when I disassemble a computer but I was in a hurry on this one. I have no idea where this thing goes. LOL Any ideas? 1
pixelpedant
Internal part of the power switch, I believe. The external switch slides into it once assembled.
+Ksarul
Yes--that loop goes over the power switch on the power supply board and the rest is the external slide switch to apply power

cbmeeks
Thanks everyone! I should have known that. I forgot that that power switch is two pieces. I got her back together again. It's going to need some work, however. All of the text is either missing or garbled. So probably bad RAM. Hopefully, I can get to it soon and get it fixed.
XLERB
The black & silver console had a two-piece switch which I usually remember after I pull the case apart and the other (outside) half flies across the room. The beige console switch really makes more sense and stays in the case right over the actual switch on the power supply board, without the extra piece.
InfiniteTape
I lost the inside piece for one console. The next time I get far enough down in my project list, I plan to create models of both pieces for 3d printing. You know...2025.
