Tempest
I was just digging through all my Activision prototypes for the CGE and I noticed something. One of my prototypes (River Raid for the Atari 400/800) had PR-003 on the label just like the Thwocker prototype (PR-001). I think that number is a version number so maybe my River Raid isn't the final version afterall. Another strange thing I noticed is my Atari 400/800 Kaboom! proto says HCS Kaboom. What does HCS stand for? Home Computer System maybe? Tempest
ren.dhark
Tempest, I have also a River Raid Prototype (for the Intellivision). I have PR#019 and the date 10/1/83 on the label. Günther
Tempest
Hmm... The date on my is 7/21/83. Nineteen would be pretty high for a version number, maybe it's the loaner cart number? Tempest
ren.dhark
Loaner Cart? Maybe. But I only saw two other River Raid protos for the Intellivision. Here´s a picture from my cart: Günther

ratfink
Tempest, those are Atari 8-bit protos right? If those were for Intellivision how cool would that be?
Tempest
Yeah they're for the Atari 400/800. I forgot that they almost look the same, especially in a scan. The Intellivision is one of the few systems I actually don't own a prototype for. Tempest
ren.dhark
Goblin, you can find most of the Intellivision Protos here : Intvman´s manifesto Günther
Tempest
Man he's good at finding all those little differences. When I get my roms straighted out I'm going to need people like that to help me find things I missed, especially in those Moon Patrol protos and that Battlezone proto that came up different. Tempest
I was just comparing my Decathlon proto to the 5200 version since I don't have a 400/800 version and I noticed that the 5200 version seemed grainy compared to the 400/800 version. Has anyone else noticed this before? Tempest
