TOS 1.04UK 28 pin roms

Recommended Posts

I think the best option for you is the 6 chip set, the original PROM used by Atari I believe is no longer

available, to use 2x1Mbit chips you would need an adaptor board as they are 32 pin chips, the 32K chips

are easy to find, I recently did this TOS upgrade to my old 520 STM.

You can get them ready burnt here if you can't do it yourself

It is easy to add 4 sockets, and they are cheap. Can get them in any electronic shop. And someone with little soldering skill can solder them in 10 minutes.  Finding now original 28 pin 2 chip TOS is hard, and may cost a lot.

I can program and send you 6x chips with UK 1.04 and sockets too if it is problem. PM me if interested.

Little more about TOS 1.xx in STs replacement here: http://atari.8bitchip.info/tosimav.html

At 60% of page, paragraph: Note about 2 or 6 chip TOS for ST, Mega ST:

So if those are the same 2 chip setup as the 28 pin 2-chip set as the Megas....

I bought myself a bunch of those and then the 29F010 PLCC roms for it, and used that to successfully burn both Tos 1.04 and EmuTos for one of my 2-chip megas.  Running a BBS off it now, so it's running 24/7 and I can't say I've had any real issues with it yet that I could tell. (It's running rainbow now).

It will work but you probably don't have room for in a STfm.
