AwkwardPotato
From what I've gathered reading around here, four of the most popular v9938/v9958-based VDP upgrades for the 99/4A are the AVPC, EVPC(2), TIM, and the Mechatronic 80-column card. Are there any differences in function/implementation among these upgrades (besides mouse support being limited to the 9938), or are they all largely software compatible with one another? Thanks! +dhe
I remember seeing a side by side demonstration of a mechatronics 80-column card and Michael Becker's EVPC(2) - both were displaying the same picture of a mouse. On the EVPC(2) - you could see individual hairs. I asked Michael what the difference was, he said he implemented the EVPC(2) - with a more hires A/D converter (?) that was more granular. Also, the Geneve didn't come with the full amount of VDP Memory compared to the AVPC.
