Speaking of modern games, with an eye to the past, that you can actually buy... I just picked up "Return to Monkey Island" for twenty pieces of eight. It's on a holiday sale at GOG / Steam. I was a little wary about the art style but I've played through the first bit and it won me over. It has a sort cartoony cubism that I enjoy but it doesn't look unpleasantly flat, like cheaper games tend to that cheap out on shading / blending, etc. Plus, it sort of fits with the tradition of Monkey Island games looking radically different (Pixel vs Cartoon vs 3D, etc.). As usual, the voice acting is very good and the puzzle solving is fun. Back in 2018 they posted a picture showing 24 people who are a "small fraction of the team that is working on the outer industrial design of the new Intellivision!" If anything, Pat was too kind to @Tommy Tallarico in that video. I can't think of any substantial way where Pat/Ian were wrong and Tommy was right, and history proved it.
