DGS-Atari
The excellent BBC Archive YouTube channel has recently added this clip from 1983 where British magician Paul Daniels discusses his new Atari adventure game. I remember seeing his interview in the Atari I/O magazine that he mentions in the video (I did an article on the old Atari I/O magazines that's available on my website http://www.dgs.clara.net/ ).
Mclaneinc
Shame he didn't actually write the game, he showed the game to me when he came in for some Atari bits, he was very much in to the Atari.
snicklin
I just had this one come up on my YouTube feed and it was good to watch. I'd heard before that he was into Atari. I intended to write to him years back about the Atari but didn't get around to it and then he passed away. If I won the lottery, I'd go and work for free for the BBC, going through their archive and pulling stuff out and putting it online. They must be sitting on so much brilliant material. Forget about tv series, I'm talking about clips like this.

They're digging out some remarkable stuff, including loads of stuff from Micro Live that I haven't seen since their original live broadcasts in the 80s. When I saw this one they uploaded last month, I suddenly remembered where I got the idea for my LIDS music programming language in Digi-Studio. It's just a reworking of the BBC Micro's Music 5000 box and programming language he demonstrates at 5:48 in the clip. Actually, the whole idea for Digi-Studio was probably based on this whole clip! Ely
Erm, for anyone unaware the entire BBC Computer Literacy archive is online and has been for a few years. Have a look here; https://clp.bbcrewind.co.uk ”This site contains all 146 of the originalComputer Literacy Project programmes plus 121 related programmes, broken down into 2,509 categorised, searchable clips.” At time it came online I created 18 DOS Batch scripts to allow you to download these programmes. You'll need to have FFmepg installed (which you can get from here https://www.ffmpeg.org/download.html). Each script has two lines at the top so you can configure them for your own needs; SET FFMPEG="C:\Program Files\FFmpeg\bin\ffmpeg.exe" SET DOWNLOADFOLDER=E:\ You can get the zip file of all the scripts from here https://www.dropbox.com/s/1g5vtx2djttbqir/BBC CLP Download Scripts config versions.zip?dl=0 Edited August 13, 2022 by Ely
