AEX
Hi guys and gals, Does anybody have an MP3 or WAV file of the Lone Raider Music. It played while the game was loading (on tape). If anybody has a spare copy of the original in its oversized plastic box, please get in touch. Thanks, Karl
analmux
I don't have a WAV or MP3 but I do have the tape. It's got indeed 3 or 4 short tunes while loading. I'll try to find the tape and record it to MP3 ----- mux
AEX
Thanks Mux, That would be great - no rush, and no worries if you don't get around to it. Appreciate the reply. Karl
analmux
Hi, I dug up some tapes form my attic, and I found Lone Raider Do you want the data too, or just the music? I can cut out the left (music) track and put it in an MP3. ----- mux
AEX
Lovely! Just the music please Mux, thats much appreciated. Try and keep the MP3 size to a minimum if poss, as I am still a lowly modem user Cheers, Karl
analmux
Okay here is the mp3. It's the left (music) track only, duplicated on the right track as well. You can still hear some data far away, as it leaked through on the left track. I tried to minimize the data sound with my Annihilator (made in N.I. Reaktor) but nothing helped, so here it is. Have fun: ----- mux http://www.phys.uu.nl/~bpos/mp3/the_lone_raider.mp3
Bryan
Huh, kinda trippy. Oh well. The audio track was certainly an under-utilized feature. -Bry

analmux
Really funny is that the music sounds like it's played on Pokeys (with some additional filtering now and then) ----- mux
Bryan
It definitely sounds like there's Pokey's in da mix. -Bry
AEX
Mux, Thanks very much for MP3'ing that for everybody - it certainly brings back memories! I remember buying Lone Raider in 1985 with my brother, and as anyone who has seen the original box will know, it has pictures of the game on the back. I'll always remember my brother saying "I hope it doesn't look like that!", pointing towards those lovely blocky figures on the box... Needless to say, I told him it wouldn't look anything like that... Anyway... at least it was fun to play and I got my brother to contribute to the final purchase (Although I had to pay him back because I bet him the graphics would be better than the box art representations!) Ahh, memories! Thanks again Mux. Karl
Randy California
Maybe we should think about preserving all these audio tracks before it's too late... ++ RC ++
