Dolt
Has anyone here done it? How did you go about it--was it under your home owner's insurance or did you take out a separate policy? What was your source for determining the overall 'worth' of the collection? How long did it take the insurance agent to stop laughing when you said you wanted to insure Atari games? Basically, what was your experience doing this and do you feel it was worth it? Clive
chadtower
I assume it would be a rider on your home/renter insurance.
candiru
Seems like I recall another thread similar to this one. You might be able to find answers to a few of your questions with the search function. I've pondered it a little bit but I don't really have anything valuable enough to justify it. Mr.FoodMonster
if its over 500 dollars, then go for it. my videogame collection of all systems and such are definitly worth more, and when i turn 18 i will probably insure it. Xot
I have a rider on my homeowner's insurance for "computers/computer equipment." My agent said that my collection would fall under this... so I took out a $5000 policy on them. This covers my computers, video games, and arcade games. I took pictures of the collection and I also have itemized lists of most of what I have... I need to put them in the safe deposit box so that if something DOES happen I can make an appropriate claim.
