TGB1718
I recently had both my old 50 pin SCSI drives fail after many years of faithful service. I've had no success finding 50 pin SCSI replacements, I think people just throw them away these days. As I have quite a few adaptors (see attached Picture) that I used in a PC many moons ago with a 6 disk SCSI RAID array. I searched Ebay and got a Quantum 4.5GB SCSI hard drive with a 68 pin interface for £4.99 + £3.20 postage, seller said all in working order, so I thought, not even a "tenner", worth a punt My STE is now sporting it's new SCSI drive, formatted and partitioned, no bad sectors "Result" The only slight down side is with the interface attached, the length of the drive increases a little and it was difficult to get it in the drive enclosure I was using. I'm using an ICD SCSI interface adaptor, but this should work for anyone with similar problems getting an old 50 pin SCSI drive.
