stushug
I'm sorry for posting this a second time, I originally posted in the RespeQt forum. I think this is more of a software question. I'm trying to take an atr of "Softporn Adventure," which after researching looks to have been either a two disk or two sided single disk, and re-write it to floppies on my 1050. Is this even possible, and if so, what is the best way to do this? This is not a game you play in one sitting, and I need the floppy option to be able to save the game at various points. I was able to use mydos 4.53 to do a duplicate disk, and it looks like it copied to a floppy with the same contents as the original file. If I start the game from the floppy, I get the opening screen of the game. At that point I'm asked if I'm starting a new game or a save game, which is exactly what is supposed to happen. The problem here is that whether you answer yes or no, the next screen that comes up says: "PROGRAM LOAD ERROR." Anyone have any ideas how to correct this situation? TGB1718
You probably need to do a sector copy of the disk, MyDos is likely to just have done a file copy. The program may be accessing data directly for some sectors.
+SoulBuster
The ATR of this game has a savfile.dat file on it. It is most likely where it saves progress. So in all practical purposes, you do not need a second disk as it looks like it can save to disk 1. If you want to save your game to disk 2, play with the original disk and just have a formatted Atari DOS 2.5 single density disk ready when playing. This is the ATR I downloaded. I'm not sure what is different in the atr I downloaded earlier. Thanks Soulbuster!!!
