Mendon
Is it any problem at all to change the screen cover on the Lynx? Reason I ask is one of my Lynx II's has a lot of scratches on the cover. I've noticed ad's on eBay for replacement Lynx II covers and was just wondering if the cover easily pop's off the Lynx or whether you have to take it apart. Since I'm not too electronically talented, thought I'd ask before I take a screw driver and start prying to find out  Thanks in advance! Just undo the 4 screws that are under de rubber strips. and one inside the battery housing. Then loosen all connectors and remove the display tied with i thought 4 screws.. and replace the cover.. You can also "if only the display has been scratched" get some scratch remover polish.. this works very well.. i have done all my lynxes with it. and the displays look brand new. eric_ruck
Be sure that the ads don't really mean the plastic sun guards, not actual screens or plastic lenses. Eric
Mendon
This is the cover I was referring to: Screen Cover Thanks to all for your responses; much appreciated! Mendon
Harry_Dodgson
You can pry the screen off from the top and bottom. It's just a tight pressure fit, no glue or screws holding it on. Removing it is pretty easy, but since you are going to replace it you don't have to worry if you pry too hard and crack it.
trailmobile
Without doing any damage to the case itself by using a small instrument to pry under the plastic LCD screen and use the case as a wedge, removing it is easier by doing as Space Invader has mentioned by taking the screws out. Once this is done, you will notice that under the front cover casing the clear plasic is "clipped" on by 4 tabs. Use a small precision screwdriver to push these tabs outward and the screen cover will be popped off for the replacement to be installed. If you need a new screen, try Callisto on EBAY. She has them for sale for $6.99 plus shipping. Good luck and keep the LYNX alive!!
trailmobile
I meant to say as Erazotropa has explained. "Space Invader" is a term used by this Forum for questions/answers posted.
