3. SNES (4 games) - 409 min. (#5)

5. Genesis (2 games) - 65 min.
6. NES/Famicom (1 game) - 54 min.
7. TG-16/PC Engine (1 game) - 43 min. (#2)
8. Amiga (1 game) - 25 min.
9. Atari 8-bit (2 games) - 24 min.
10. Tiger R-Zone (1 game) - 20 min.

This week we make room for Ultimate Doom and Kaboom! in the top of the list. While the totals cool down a bit from last week, it is a tight battle for the most played system with arcade only two minutes ahead of the 2600, and another 66 min ahead of the SNES.

Does this mean out of the previous 18 + 96 minutes you played this year, you played the Sun Electronics version? It was previously tracked in 2019 by @wongojack and perhaps he played the Atari version of the same game?

Looking at screenshots and they seem to be the same game.  They have the same screens anyway.  Maybe different colors? The title screen displays Sun Electronics for both

Yes, all that was not marked as Arabian (Atari) was the Sun Electronics version. I don't know what version Wongojack played though.

By the way, I unfortunately just realized I forgot to count yet another session from Sunday with 25 more minutes on Super Arabian (NES) which happened before the 36 minutes session I did count, so that would bring the NES version Super Arabian (which was also done by Sun Electronics, but strangely reminds me of the arcade game Sky Skipper) up to 18 + 25 + 36 = 79 minutes for last week. Sorry for the sloppiness lately, but there has been much going on with the flat of my deceased father last week, so I didn't count my times as carefully as usual, at least not on Sunday.

Well, that's not what I experienced... here's screenshots from both versions:

Atari version:

Arabian_Atari.png.d7afcbcf2db0231c5c54e54a41084f45.png

Sun version:

Arabian_Sun.png.accada7ce61cbc8b5176511d90a18848.png

So at least in the title screen they look a bit different. But you're right in that the game screens are basically nearly undistinguishable. The difference is really in the spawning behaviour of various enemies, in the music and in what happens if the player falls.

Anyway, here are my times for this past week (December 11th through 17th) on classic systems (again I didn't play any modern games this week):

Arcade:

Arabian (Sun) - 25 min.

Black Panther - 22 min.

Ikki - 28 min.

NES:

Super Arabian - 193 min. in 4 sessions

I continued playing "Super Arabian" on the NES for more than 3 hours, but finally I managed to get through all 4 rounds of a level. After that I replayed the original Sun version where I struggled a bit on the first attempt, but on the second attempt I managed to complete the 4 rounds again.

Apart from that, I played Ikki, which reminds me a bit of Rally-X in that you run around as a farmer on fields and try to collect some things which are displayed on a radar in the same style as in Rally-X. Other people run and shoot after you and you shouldn't let them get you, but fortunately, you can shoot back. You can complete extra tasks like picking up a key and freeing the farmer sitting in  cage. However, soon you get attacked by Ninja fighters who move and shoot much faster than the other people.

Black Panther, on the other hand, is basically a beat-em-up game but with a panther as the main player. It's a bit more modern than "Arabian" and was made in 1987 if I remember correctly, thus already having FM music,

Welcome back @oyamafamily!!!

My times:

Arcade:

Combatribes - 35 minutes

IMG_1821.thumb.jpeg.349d4e3d40e17c44d31b3606ccb9c37a.jpeg

Really great beat em up, much better than the Double Dragon arcade games Technos is famous for. Neat Block Out cameo there too!

Microvision:

I seem to have mislaid my nice backlit Microvision...

Block Buster - 15 minutes

NES:

Devil World - 10 minutes

IMG_1801.thumb.jpeg.a02bf6bf8773be5def3802ef158c84bb.jpeg

One of the least fun iterations on the concept of Squish! that I have played, but not bad. We didn't miss much by not having it in the US.

Gradius - 25 minutes

IMG_1805.thumb.jpeg.698a4586dd84e51b68cf2dd0bc2ac929.jpeg

Finished the first loop... thanks to a save that started me at the last level fully powered up, lol.

NNNNN (Evercade version) - 75 minutes

IMG_1771.thumb.jpeg.e3642d086e9ffa9b9ec2c48b2a786482.jpeg

It is amazing how much time a game whose average length is about 3 seconds can soak up, hahah.

Yoshi - 10 minutes

IMG_1799.thumb.jpeg.823c0616a97b7228dc52a290746cfd0e.jpeg

Tried to play it with an open mind, still hate it.

SNES:

Rushing Beat (JP original of Rival Turf!) - 20 minutes

IMG_1762.thumb.jpeg.34753114ba1a39b05d32979db90249da.jpeg
The Evercade Jaleco home collection recently got a patch to replace the seriously mangled US game with the wholly superior JP original. Fun game!

I expect less time this week but more classic time.

Are you suggesting that the hidden bonus game NNNNNN on the Evercade differs from the 4K ROM released in 2019, thus worthy of an own entry in the tracker?

Well, it replaces the VVVVVV sprite man with Evercade's mascot Cadey, and presumably adjusts the hitbox accordingly, but I leave it to your discretion!
