Room 34
http://www.atariage.com/box_page.html?Soft...65&BoxStyleID=4 Have a look at the back of the Fatal Run box. This game was NOT released in the U.S. (or anywhere in NTSC format for that matter). So why does the back of the box have the FBI "Winners don't use drugs" seal? +-^CrossBow^-
No confusion here. Atari meant to release this in the States...remember? We have Protos of it that prove this. However, the 2600 was all but dead when they finally released this title. At least here in the US it was. Chances are, they (Atari) already had the NTSC boxes and manuals done, and just decided to use those instead of redesigning a different box for overseas. Afterall, if you have a few thousand boxes already made for a title you don't plan to release in one region, but will release in another region, what would you do? Either that or due to the wonderful Quality they had during this time, it could have just been that all the boxes were cut and paste designs. Basically they had a box back already done..and just changed the screenshots and info text to match Fatal Run. Those are the most logical explanations to me... +-^CrossBow^-
As I stated Matt, I knew that you had one and thought another had turned up...but maybe not. I still say the game was designed to be released here but that by the time it was done, the 2600 was more than dead here so they felt it best to just release the game in the market where it would sell...Europe.
