pixelmischief
I'd like to use real Atari disk drives and printers, connected to my PC, and available in Altirra. Is there a pathway to this? The documentation I find talks a lot about virtual devices presented to a real Atari computer, but not real Atari devices presented to a virtual Atari computer. Nezgar
No, but with full emulation of drives and other peripherals you can emulate their function very faithfully.
pixelmischief
So, "No". Is that definitive and authoritative? You're sure this doesn't exist? What about the 10502PC device?
phaeron
Nope, you can't use real devices over a 10502PC with Altirra. The serial timing is not as critical as the other way around, but it'd still be poor enough to detract from a lot of reasons for wanting to do it. The recommendation is still that you use existing software to make an image, which circumvents the timing issues and also reduces wear and tear on the disk and disk drive.
