Spector
i notice in the Atariage store when talking about Thrust +, it says "Supports both NTSC and PAL television formats." Do you mean that the one cart can work on both formats? Or does it mean that they are seperate cartridges?
Albert
The same cartridge works with both television formats. One of the difficulty switches allows you to select between PAL and NTSC. This is the case with several homebrew games. ..Al
Spector
That's pretty smart thinking.
Thomas Jentzsch
That's pretty smart thinking. Thanks! To avoid any confusion: The switch in Thrust only changes the colors, not the frame rate. But that should be no problem, since by far the most PAL TVs can sync to NTSC too. And that way the overall gameplay speed is identical in PAL and NTSC. This is exactly the way it should be; as you say, most TV's do 60Hz now. That's brilliant, because the speed is kept the same too and the screen has no borders- everyones a winner I think you are the first to do it this way Thomas, so congrats! I hope that other homebrew developers take note of this relatively simple idea which massively improves the gaming experience for all PAL Atarians. liveinabin
It also makes it the first 60fps version of Thrust on any PAL system:)
