SIDE3 XL OS PORTB RAM use??

Hello,

 

Does SIDE3 cartridge use the XL PORTB RAM located in the OS ROM region?

I would say no, I have used all the PortB banked RAM with U1M and SIDE3 present with no issues.

SDX in SIDE3 uses some of it's banked memory and may also use some conflicting memory space

areas, hence having to use the 'X' command to run some applications.

 

I'm sure others who know a bit more about the actual technical details will advise

The loader uses neither the Shadow RAM nor extended RAM. SDX may use either or both depending on the configuration (see the SDX manual).
