The Coco used DIN connectors for its joysticks, but there are too many pins for that. (Atari to Coco joystick adapters also require some additional passive components, not just a cable.)

 

It's also not a TurboGrafx 16 connector (there is correct number of pins, but not the correct arrangement).

It was a rather strange move by Commodore to introduce a new joystick port when there was a huge market for sticks of all kinds with the Atari plug. Did they really expect people to buy their (probably rather cheaply built) sticks rather than a Comp Pro and and adapter?
