ACML Posted May 20, 2023 Share Posted May 20, 2023 In my reading of Ultimate Cart threads on AA, I have taken away that the built in loader can be superseded by a _boot.rom file in the root directory. Is this correct? If so, what is the latest version with XEX loader fixes. I don't want to risk damaging my Ultimate cart by reprogramming the firmware, but can much of the recent 2023 improvements be realized by just adding a new _boot.rom file to the root directory? I did try it and the DLI flicker is gone and the troublesome games do now load. So, if you are hesitant to upgrade the firmware on your Ultimate Cart, you can add this _boot.rom to the root directory on the SD card instead. I don't know if this version includes support for the four new cartridge formats.
