Evidence that the carbon gold model might exsist?

Found this link on Walmart that claims they once carried the carbon gold varient of the VCS. However, it is out of stock. It has reviews talking about the VCS meaning that people did buy this product. None of the reviews mention receiving a different model, like the wood walnut or black onyx. Does this mean the carbon gold variant could've exsisted? What do you think?

I don't think so, that page was up back in the IndieGoGo days and is probably just a remnant in the system. People are probably just leaving reviews of the unit in general. I've never seen any evidence of an actual unit outside of this old web page.

Mockduck is correct.  I wanted one of the Carbon Gold variants ever since I saw it during the Indiegogo campaign.  I was keeping close tabs on this version and never did it actually go up for sale.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's not one or two units at atari hq that were made as test runs for production that ended up not being followed through on

That is the only way they would exist.  I would actually spend a small fortune on one of those pre-production models.

The pre-production model would essentially be a faceplate and back plate test print/mold. I remember seeing a post on either IndieGoGo or elsewhere from Atari showing early faceplate tests and didn't see the Carbon one in that photo, but who knows if one ever got made. So far no evidence of one existing.
