Best DOS for XEGS

I recently bought an XEGS with the intention of using it hooked up to my PC with a SIO2PC cable. I've gotten APE working and have tested a couple of bootable floppy images so I know it's working. But, when I start to tinker with DOS I'm lost. What version(s)/type(s) of DOS should I look for? Also, what are the limitations to the programs I can run on the XEGS.

There aren't many limitations on an XEGS. You can run anything intended for the 400/800/XL/XE series that can run in 64k. (Obviously 128k 130XE-only proggies won't run)

 

As for DOS, I loved Sparta. It's a CLI (Command Line Interface) like MS-DOS, and works a lot like it, too. Supports single, enhanced and double-density, US doublers, etc. VEry nice. MyDOS is another good one if you prefer a more menu-driven DOS.
