www.atarimania.com
Another very rare title dumped by John Hardie: http://www.atarimania.com/utility-atari-400-800-xl-xe-soundmouse_15968.html Does anybody know whether this program can be made to work without the device? 3
+Allan
It would be great if we could duplicate the hardware so more of us could tinker with this.
Rybags
It seems to be some sort of A->D converter using a POT to feed the value to the computer. The doc mentions it works especially with low pitched sounds. Possibly it also uses some other lines for communication - if it was POT only then you might be able to just plug a paddle in to make the program think the device is present. Looks like they're using the Adventure International font in the software (3rd screenshot) as previously seen in Sea Dragon and Preppie. ed - reading further, maybe it's more like a sort of volume meter. It responds to changes in volume but will settle into a constant value once the volume remains constant for a time. But still, probably partly able to be immitated by using a paddle. www.atarimania.com
You're right, it partly works with paddles. Managed to grab a few more screens.
