rietveld
I am a brand new 5200 owner. I also bought the 2600 adapter. It does not seem to work and a quick GOOGLE search suggests that it is not compatible with the 4 port model. Just wondering why? BTW this is a great looking system with great graphics Edited July 22, 2023 by rietveld
+-^CrossBow^-
The 4 port unit was designed before the VCS adapter became a thing. The 4 port unit is missing some traces on the cartridge port that are needed for the video, audio, and power in order for the VCS to work on the 4 port. That said, you can have the 4 port modified to be able to work with the VCS adapter. It was an official modification back in the day that Atari had official service centers to do for 4 port owners.
