Sears console going bad?

This is the first time I've ever had this happen to this Atari. This is an old Sears four switch model and all the sudden it's acting up. Has this ever happened to someone before? I thought these ataris were indestructible and I've never had this happen but now the system is acting up and doing weird things. It's not responding to the joysticks sometimes, the picture fades out, etc. 

    It started while I was using the supercharger. At first I thought it was the supercharger but it turns out to be the console. Maybe I should open it up and there's a capacitor that needs to be replaced?
