Have you take a look about the graphics glitches I mentioned above? unfortunately i wasn't even able to find out whether it's a vbxe issue related to your setup or whether that happens with all vbxe devices out there i haven't found anything that looked obviously wrong and since i can't do any tests myself, there's no progress on this (currently i consider it a vbxe issue since the stock video output is fine, i'm not against trying to workaround that problem but i have no means to do that at this moment)
TwiliteZoner
There is currently another sale on the SUBCART. Anyone that has not had the opportunity to get one now is a great time.

I am a regular Side3 user/U1MB user and am very happy with it. Just curious about the Subavg cart for a possible setup for a friend who wants to try it out given it's other hardware properties (ram and pokey, etc). Dumb carts? First I've head of this. I've just checked it out....interesting. It's good to have options but Tbh £60 odd, personally IMO it makes sense to pay a little more for either Side3 or AVG/SubAVG, or go for the Ultimate cart or A8pico. Edit: what I really don't get though is this: cartridge shell is too wide for 1200XL Why bring a new cart out now which isn't just the 3mm less width needed to fit the 1200XL? This has been raised a good few times now. Dumb cart: https://retrolemon.co.uk/atari-8bit-storage-devices/228-avgcart.html A Simple Multicart For Atari XL/XE This cartridge is for you, if you don’t need extra features of AVGCART. If you are just after running some games you used to play as a kid and do not need advanced SIO emulation or cartridge images stacking, DUMBCART will be just perfect. Features: supports CAR (cartridge dump) files up to 1MB and most bankswitching types supports XEX (executable) files limited support for ATR (floppy image) files (read/write) - works similarly to SIDE3, UnoCart etc fast file search, file shortcuts, randomizer and tons of other features firmware is upgradeable via SD card (no additional hardware needed) compatible with 600XL, 800XL/XE, 65XE, 130XE, XEGS (cartridge shell is too wide for 1200XL, bare PCB will fit, it is also too tall for 800, can be used with cartridge door opened and door switch triggered) Edited January 11 by Beeblebrox

If you're going to be dumb, this is one of the obvious places to start.
+CharlieChaplin
Who needs an Ultimate cart now ? the Ultimate cart. at a stupid low price = Dumb cart. ! Does everything the Ultimate cart does (and more!) at half the price... or simply: Dumb cart - power without the price (of an Ultimate cart.)
Back2skooldaze
When turning on rtc in subcart menu I loaf spartados 4.47 and its stating R-Time 8 not present? But if I type time I can set correct time but not the date? When setting time I then type time which shows correct time but not for date??? _The Doctor__
AVG cart has not RTC, You need to use the specific SDX build for your hardware, or you can roll your own using the SDX config and imaging tools Edited June 20 by _The Doctor__

I'd hazzard a guess that a specific driver for SDX for Subcart isn't loading up?

Back2skooldaze
Thanks subcart I'll try that when I get home from work.. I read the subcart has built in battery for RTC that's why I was wondering. Cheers for the link 👍
_The Doctor__
I would not use 4.47 try 4.49 that has the critic fix. 12 hours ago, _The Doctor__ said: AVG cart has not RTC, You need to use the specific SDX build for your hardware, or you can roll your own using the SDX config and imaging tools SubAvg has it's own RTC, and it looks like TMP has uploaded 4.49 with the files and config imaged for you. Hopefully it's from the latest build with the critic fix on a couple of the ovl's
