0078265317
This is already possible. The 8bitdo genesis mega drive receiver does not work on Atari 2600. But if you attach one of these first it works. https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1079 or at least the black versions I have like these do. Not sure if the blue second version linked above works or not. https://www.facebook.com/edladdin/posts/the-seagull-78-adapter-allows-gamers-to-use-any-sega-genesis-compatible-controll/1615169372094622/ But the one thing this has which the seagull method does not is usb. So it might be helpful for that reason.
Trioptrooper
It might map the Buttons out a bit different to Aladdin or the Crossover cable I built. I have Y as Fire A as Down and B as Up. D Pad and joystick work as usual. I will be looking forward to trying the USB . Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered the iPlay Mega Atari Adapter to add to the billions and trillions and quadrillions of atari joystick adapters I already have. 😁 If I can dig up the 8bitdo I bought years ago then I can give this combination a try. Trioptrooper
I have the latest firmware update on the 8bitdo 1.5 and it seems the same as before. Standby is good too as your control is still Synchronised to the 8bitdo even after switching the Atari 2600 power state. The control also has sleep mode which can be woken up by pressing home on your Bluetooth controller. There is more to the MEGA ATARI. Like also USB keyboard....and i mentioned the pluscart(+) it should work fine with Other Atari 2600 Cartridges. Ect.. Lamprey
Cool. I need to get a couple of these in the next few weeks. Hopefully, they are still available. Any plans for a case or for a 3d (stl) file we can print off for ourselves?
Trioptrooper
That Is a Nice idea How to get started on That, ? I have a Dremel and wood but I was thinking milling some aluminium rectangular hollow tube or filling with electric insulation epoxy after fixing it into something like a matchbox. If someone can come up with a nice 3d Stl that would be Great.
xeex
They're being sold with a 3D-printed case in Brazil, so I hope that makes it to the rest of us eventually: I picked one up to try with the 8bitdo NEOGEO controller. I hope I can get it to work wired or, preferably, wireless.
Trioptrooper
Looking at this DB9 connector case, with a bit of cutting you should have a case. Edited September 21, 2023 by Trioptrooper
